OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Jeff and his team oversee all aspects of 4-H youth development in Ohio for 60,000+ 4-H members, 3,000 clubs, and 12,000 adult volunteers.

Jeff provides overall leadership and direction of the Ohio 4-H Youth Development program. In doing so, he provides financial support for Ohio 4-H and administrative direction to the Ohio 4-H Foundation; assists with recruitment, placement and professional development of 4-H professionals; and represents OSU Extension in addressing youth development issues and policies.

Jeff works directly with state specialists, program staff, and student workers to thoughtfully and strategically plan national trips, the 4-H presence and statewide 4-H member participation at the Ohio State Fair, leadership camps, and much more. Jeff also works closely with 94 county agricultural societies to plan individual county and independent fairs across the state. He provides individual and group instruction in program and risk management in addition to securing extramural funding to support programming. Jeff's responsibilities also include contributing scholarly and creative work in support of, and to advance, 4-H youth development.

“My role is to help our Extension employees navigate how to do the 'business' of Extension, and I enjoy helping them to succeed professionally and grow personally as they live out their passion to work with Ohioans.”
Jeff McCutcheon
