How to View Data on Ohioline Fact Sheets

The Ohio State University Office of Marketing and Communications now offers web analytics dashboards that make it easy for anyone in the university community to view web traffic. The dashboards, which are built in Tableau and use Google Analytics 4, mean you can look at specific data for your web pages, including fact sheets on Ohioline.

Follow these step-by-step instructions anytime you want to report impact, gauge interest in a topic, or see the results of promotional efforts.

  1. Navigate to https://omc.osu.edu/analytics-overview/analytics-dashboards. NOTE: If you want to learn more about the meaning of terms like page views, unique page views, sessions, and others, this page includes a link to a handy Data Dictionary.
  1. Scroll down the page and click “Page URL Traffic Dashboard,” which is highlighted in the screenshot below.

  1. You are now on the Page Traffic Analysis page. In the upper left corner, click the “Hostname” dropdown arrow.

  1. Scroll down the dropdown list and select “ohioline.osu.edu” by clicking once.

  1. In another window, open your Ohioline fact sheet and copy its unique URL.

  1. Navigate back to the Page Traffic Analysis. Paste your fact sheet’s URL into the “Page URLs” field.

  1. At the top of the page, click in the “Start Date” and “End Date” fields to select the dates you would like to use to capture data. You can request analytics with a start date as early as June 22, 2022. Older data is not available.
