    As part of the nation’s largest youth development and youth mentoring organization, Ohio 4-H is known for its excellence in providing hands-on learning activities. Ohio 4-H Week culminates in the Ohio 4-H Conference on March 14 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. This year, nearly 1,400 people are expected to attend. At the conference, 4-H teens and volunteers will participate in workshops to hone their skills, learn about 4-H projects, and find out about additional opportunities that 4-H offers.

    The Spectrum Temperament Development Model is a fun and exciting method for helping people better understand themselves and others. In our interactive workshops, participants are introduced to the different personality styles using the language of color. The research-based Spectrum Temperament Development Model is founded on the philosophy that individuals and organizations have the ability to increase and develop their potential if provided with applicable knowledge and skill.

    As a manager or unit supervisor you have the important responsibility of guiding, directing, and managing the performance of individuals you supervise. This can be a daunting and sometimes challenging part of your role. This workshop focused on coaching and performance management is a great place to begin developing and/or strengthening your skills and gain valuable resources that will help reduce the stress associated with the performance management process.

  7. Feb 25, 2015, 2:00pm - 3:00pm

    Ohio and Cornell are partnering on a farm business and benchmarking project this year. Cornell is focusing its efforts on beef farmers. Ohio’s priorities include crop, beef and dairy farms. To assist educators and consultants completing analyses, a series of three webinars will be held on February 11, February 25 and March 11. Mike Baker, beef cattle Extension specialist from Cornell, and Dianne Shoemaker, field specialist, dairy production economics, Ohio State University Extension, will facilitate the sessions.

    This monthly series will begin on Tuesday, January 27 and continue on February 10 and February 24, and will start each evening at 7 p.m. Each session will be broadcast locally via an internet link. The programs will address some of the most important issues currently facing Ohio's beef industry. Rapidly changing forces are constantly shaping the beef industry's landscape, and successful producers need to stay abreast of changes to remain competitive.
