    Public Issues Leadership Development Sponsored by JCEP (Joint Council of Extension Professionals) the PILD conferences are conducted by and for Extension professionals. Through speakers, workshops and meetings, participants learn how to engage in U.S. public policy and the legislative process, and are presented with the opportunity to connect with their congressional representatives to discuss Extension programs and issues.   2. Apr 11, 2015 through Apr 16, 2015 (All day)

    National 4-H Conference is the premier 4-H civic engagement national opportunity for youth. Delegates will not only learn while at the conference. Delegates have the opportunity to practice and apply in a real-world setting their newly developed and refined skills. The delegates choose an important societal topic, and in roundtable groups, prepare a briefing. During the conference, the groups present their briefing to federal officials around the Washington, DC area.

    The new Ohio Food, Agriculture and Environmental Law Webinar Series features national and state legal experts discussing important legal issues for Ohio agriculture. The webinars are available at no cost and do not require registration. An archive of the webinars will be kept on www.aglaw.osu.edu for future reference. Some of the webinars target legal practitioners, while others will be directed to both the legal and agricultural communities in Ohio.

    This event is FREE and open to the public. The program will be held at the USDA Service Center in Hopedale (across from the fire hall). The OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers have put together a no-till garden for all to enjoy and learn some hands-on gardening skills. This workshop will also include a session on backyard poultry production.

    All professionals encounter conversations that are regarded high in stakes from time to time. These high-stakes dialogues can become pivotal in one’s effectiveness if handled correctly. In this workshop, participants will learn what conversations fit the context of “difficult” and how to effectively confront them. They will leave the session with a toolkit of knowledge to best handle these conversational situations they may face in the workplace and beyond.
