    The new Ohio Food, Agriculture and Environmental Law Webinar Series features national and state legal experts discussing important legal issues for Ohio agriculture. The webinars are available at no cost and do not require registration. An archive of the webinars will be kept on www.aglaw.osu.edu for future reference. Some of the webinars target legal practitioners, while others will be directed to both the legal and agricultural communities in Ohio.

    The Ag-Urban Landscape Ecology Lab is hosting three sessions of a workshop this year in May to kick off The Buckeye Lady Beetle Blitz 2015. This workshop will focus on training for our Buckeye Lady Beetle Blitz citizen science project. We will provide a review of lady beetle identification and sampling procedures, and distribute the 2015 toolkits. Dr. Mary Gardiner will also cover information from her new book, Good Garden Bugs, due out this May. Participants will learn about the diversity of beneficial arthropods that inhabit their garden.

    As a leader it is important to know what talents you possess, that you bring to the leadership table. Do you know what strengths you possess? Every leader possesses her or his own unique set of talents. According to the Gallup Organization, "we spend too much time focusing on our weaknesses, trying to make them stronger rather than recognizing our strengths." When you focus on your weaknesses, you miss out on utilizing what you do best for your organization.

    Immediately following the Patterson Lecture, visit The Ohio State University Outreach and Engagement Forum from 1-3 p.m. in the Ohio Union, Archie Griffin East Ballroom. The Forum is a poster exhibition featuring more than 125 initiatives that Ohio State faculty, staff and students are partnering in with members of our local, national and international communities. The Forum is free to attend and open to the public.

    Dr. Michael V. Drake, president of The Ohio State University, is the speaker for the 12th annual James F. Patterson Lecture. Drake became the 15th president of The Ohio State University on June 30, 2014, following nine years as chancellor of the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Drake is a member of the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, and he serves on the boards of the Association of American Universities and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

    The Ohio State University recognizes faculty, staff, students and community partners for outstanding achievement with the Outreach and Engagement Recognition Awards program. The overall top partnership, which receives the University Outreach and Engagement Award, serves as the university's nominee for the national C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award.
