Manure Science Review
Primary tabs
Manure Science Review this year will feature a cutting-edge livestock farm that’s keeping soil and water healthy by practicing regenerative agriculture. Started in 2019, MVP Dairy is home to 4,400 cows, uses a variety of state-of-the-art technology, and was named 2020 Innovative Dairy Farmer of the Year by the International Dairy Foods Association and Dairy Herd Management magazine.
Tours will show the farm’s 80-cow DeLaval rotary milking parlor, its sand lane and GEA slope screen liquid-fiber separator for processing and recycling manure, and its public education center. Demonstrations will cover solid manure application comparison and calibration, liquid manure application and incorporation, and side-dressing growing crops with manure.
Joining MVP Dairy in hosting Manure Science Review are The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES); the Mercer Soil and Water Conservation District; and Ag Solutions.
