Our April FCS Professional Development Day will focus on the release of the new Ohio Person in Charge: Know and Show Curriculum. Join the writing team as we share the development process, final product, and how you can teach it!
9-9:15am: How did we get here? Why is this different? -- Join us for a look back at the past 2 years. THIS is a program we are excited to teach. It meets the guidelines set by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), it’s interactive, and it’s realistic.
9:15-10:45am Breaking down the curriculum – Part 1 -- What’s inside? -- This is a complete curriculum! Team members will walk through each part of the curriculum: publicity, instructor resources, lesson plans/PowerPoints, activities, handout, certificate, pre-/post-test. We will also discuss who can teach this course and the ODH provider application/modification process.
10:45-11am: Break
11am-12:30pm: Breaking down the curriculum – Continued
12:30-1:30pm: Lunch Time!
1:30-2:30pm: Demystifying the FDA Food Code -- The Food Code. What is it? How is it used? Food Safety Field Specialist, Dr. Nicole Arnold, will explore the relationship between the FDA Food Code, Ohio Uniform Food Safety Code, and food safety education programs.
