ANR Onboarding In-Service

Pre-registration is required. This webinar is required for new ANR educators with one year of experience or less, but is open to specialists, program assistants and others who work in Extension ANR regardless of experience.

We will have a panel discussion on how to handle some uncomfortable situations that may arise when working with clientele during conversations, site visits or programs. Topics will include:

• overview of OSU policy and when reporting is required,
• conversations about setting boundaries,
• communication with clientele and your office on how to answer calls,
• disruptions during programs,
• handling irritating comments vs harassment, discrimination
• handling controversial subject matter and politics
• handling invisible bug and health-related questions
• working through legal issues
• witnessing verbal and physical abuse and threats of violence
