Two OSU Extension Levies Passed by Voters

Congratulations to Hardin and Morrow counties! The renewal levy on the ballot in each county passed by an excellent margin. The Hardin County levy passed 61 percent to 39 percent. The Morrow County levy passed 57 percent to 43 percent. OSU Extension appreciates the show of support by the citizens in both of these counties!

Endeavor Center Named Top Outreach Award Winner

Three programs at Ohio State were under consideration for the University Outreach and Engagement Award, Ohio State’s highest outreach award — but it was the Endeavor Center housed at OSU South Centers in Piketon that will be the university’s nominee for the national C. Peter Magrath University Community Engagement Award next year. The award was presented May 1 during the University Outreach and Engagement Recognition Awards program in conjunction with the annual James F. Patterson Lecture. Read more: Outreach and Engagement.

Regional Web Sites Updated

-Cheryl Buck, executive assistant to the director, OSU Extension

The five regions of OSU Extension each now have an updated web site.

Thanks to our regional office staff for migrating content from the old sites to the new sites, as well as continuing to populate and update the new templates. This will be an ongoing project. We will add more information to the Northwest Region site after Cindy Torppa starts in early June, and the Southwest Region site will be updated more after a new Southwest regional director is hired.

Coasters – National Centennial Item for Purchase

The drink coasters that were handed out to employees at the OSUE Annual Conference are available for purchase directly from the vendor. OSU Extension professionals can order these coasters without any changes to the art, and there will be no set-up charge. Note: The coasters use the national Centennial logo, and the art cannot be changed for this offer.

The coasters are 3.6” diameter x 1/8” hard-surface coaster material, plastic front and rubber-backed. The minimum order is 250, and the cost is $1.02 per coaster. The next price break is at 1,000 pieces for $0.99 each. You are encouraged to combine county or unit orders to meet the minimum order requirement.

The company is ProformaTCL (614-766-1313 or proformatcl@columbus.rr.com). Our contact is Lori Luke, and her assistant is Kathy. There is no product number, simply refer to the Centennial coaster when you contact Lori. Process: Once you contact Lori with the quantity you need, she will give you an order number and a price estimate to include shipping. That order number is then used by the purchaser when referencing Proforma as the vendor in the eRequest system. Industry standards allow for over-runs or under-runs up to 10%, for which the customer is responsible for payment. If exact quantities are required (upcharges may apply), please advise ProformaTCL prior to placing the order.
