DAYTON, Ohio -- WHIO-Channel 7, the CBS affiliate in Dayton, will broadcast "4-H 365: Year Round Adventure" on Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m.

The half-hour program features Clark County 4-H members engaged in hands-on experiential fun and the volunteers guiding those learning opportunities, said Patty House, 4-H youth development educator for Ohio State University Extension in Clark County.

The program is the result of a continued partnership between OSU Extension, the Clark County 4-H Program and the Clark County Fair and is being sponsored by Meijer, Clark State Community College, OSU Extension and the Clark County Fair.

"We want people to discover first-hand how 4-H is connecting with today's young people for positive youth development," House said.

"The show focuses on the core values taught through the four 'H's' -- head, heart, hands and health -- and how 4-H programming is year-round, 365 days a year, involving lots of adventurous, experiential learning through 4-H projects, camping, after-school programs, unique community partnerships and more," House said.

In addition, the program will discuss one of OSU Extension’s Signature Programs, "Why Trees Matter," and a new partnership between Harold Schnell Elementary, Cox Arboretum and OSU Extension. Another segment will focus on how 4-H projects can help enhance physical activity, including through a new Clark County 4-H project, 4-H Skateboarding, and through the 4-H Dog Agility program.

Viewers or anyone who wants to become involved in 4-H in their local areas can find more information on Ohio 4-H's website, http://www.ohio4h.org and click "4-H for You."
