New 4-H volunteers are required to attend a New Volunteer Orientation during their first 12 months with the program. Some counties require attendance at such a training BEFORE advisors may begin their service. Check with your county Extension office to determine when you need to attend. During this session they learn about 4-H programs, philosophy, and policies; share ideas; and have the opportunity to meet Extension staff and have their questions answered.
